El matrimonio es un contrato de adhesión, como es el amor a la patria: yo te quiero, no porque me quieres, sino porque eres mía. Y, porque te quiero, te quiero hacer mejor.

La felicidad es un mecanismo que tiene la Naturaleza para indicarnos que estamos en el lugar correcto y haciendo lo que nos corresponde.
Para los animales, esta señal de la Naturaleza equivale a sentirse bien: satisfacer sus instintos
El hombre en un animal cuyos instintos no están perfectamente acoplados. El hueco que queda entre ellos y la acción es lo que llamamos “libertad”.
Por lo tanto, en el hombre la felicidad no se corresponde con el “sentirse bien” sino que necesita también satisfacer su conciencia, para saber que está en el lugar adecuado, haciendo lo correcto.

La Ciencia moderna comenzó como una rebeldía contra la ciencia aristotélixa, porque éste usaba categorías filosóficas para explicar la realidad natural.
Pero el siglo 21 está dándole la razón al griego, en cuanto que se está descubriendo que todo lo que existe es materia (energía) y forma (información); y que no existe el vacío. Los mismos conceptos filosóficos por los que él fue condenado.

We are investing so many resources in keeping our health, that we have managed to make our bodies  outlive our brains. Scores of people, then, spend their last years brainless. The most natural and logical solution is not to eliminate them, but to reduce our consumption of health care.

El ideal liberal consiste en que cada uno viva su vida sin que nadie de fuera le diga si está bien  o mal: casarse con quien sea, tener hijos solo si se quiere,  tomar la substancia que quiera, etc.
Podemos intuir que hay algo de bueno que subyace en esta idea de defender un cierto auto gobierno personal.
Lo que, en mi opinión, no es bueno, es plasmar este ideal en leyes::regular nuevos tipos de matrimonios, o legalizar sustancias psicodélicas.  Las leyes son, por definición, la plasmación por escrito de los ideales de una comunidad (no se mata, no se roba). Las leyes bregan con conductas “generales”, no concretas.
Y el liberalismo nace, precisamente, como una denuncia contra la limitación de esas normas generales: estas normas ideales no pueden recoger la variedad de matices que tienen los comportamientos concretos. Las leyes no sirven para valorar toda la complejidad del comportamiento humano. Sin embargo, esta complejidad ha de considerarse para hacer Justicia en cada caso. Aquí descansa la validez del planteamiento liberal.
Pero si se pretende LEGISLAR el liberalismo, se le mata, por contradicción. Si tratamos de expresar como leyes todas las conductas “alternativas” a las ideales (distintos tipos de uniones maritales o de substancias permitidas), matamos lo liberal del liberalismo.
No matemos lo bueno de este ideal. Dejemos que las leyes se usen para marcar las conductas ideales (“preferimos que en nuestro pueblo los matrimonios no se divorcien”) y dejemos las conductas reales como parte de la vida social, no de sus leyes.

I am a Christian, therfore I am a Jew. Christianity is, in a nutshell, a proposal for the completion of the Jewish narrative.
The Jewish worldview rest on an incredibly simple intuition: there is only one God, who created everything that exists.
It seems simple, but contains three very aggressive negations of alternative explanations of reality. If you cannot stand them, you are not a Jew.
First, it denies the existence of other gods, equal or lesser. This implies that there is no fate, but destiny. No one has his life defined by a different purpose that the single will of the only God. Everyone has the same official purpose in life: to be fulfilled by fulfilling the creation plan (a.k.a. hapiness). No senseless existences allowed.
Second:  the negation of the Greek belief that matter does not belong to God, but is an obstacle for the spirit to ascend. In the Hebrew worldview, matter and spirit are equally destined to God by God.
The third, and most defining test, is the negation of the existence of a wicked god to explain the presence of evil in the world. All the evil (death, misery and even sin) is simply a temporary vacuum of goodness, intended to be filled by the evolution of creation, both material and spiritual.
